About Jeremy
Jeremy Sangster was an amazing guy. I've been staring at this page for an hour and still can't seem to find the words to describe him. I could write about his passion for soccer, his knack for physics and math, his ability to make just about anyone smile, his resiliency (both on and off the field)... but what I can't articulate is just how much he meant to others, each in a different way.
Jeremy attracted friends from all across the social spectrum and felt comfortable in just about any situation. He was fearless, but also logical, composed, and honest. He would take the time to speak genuinely with anyone, strangers and friends alike.
The tragedy of the situation, of course, is that Jeremy had so much potential, so much more to give, both to himself and to society. Things had just started to fall into place for him: a great degree, a great girlfriend, a new apartment, job prospects. After conquering a steady stream of colleges, he had passed his actuary exams and was ready to take on the real world.
On October 5th, 2008, an extension cord in Jeremy's apartment caught fire and filled the room with smoke while he was asleep. He died six days later at Strong Memorial Hospital of related injuries. He was 26.

#22 was Jeremy's soccer jersey number.
